Summary:
The Program Administrator oversees administrative services, operational support, accreditation reporting, and fiscal health of the undergraduate Bachelor of Science (BS) in Public Health Program, within the School of Nursing and Health Professions (SONHP).
The Administrator oversees program and department administrative objectives by managing staff, planning and evaluating program activities, and budget (in partnership with the Program Director), developing and facilitating marketing and recruitment strategies (in partnership with the Director of Graduate Enrollment Management), and admissions processes (in partnership with the Director of Graduate Admissions Operations).
This includes overall responsibility for managing short- and long-term administrative planning and operational functions, and for overseeing and leading the work of direct report(s).
The Administrator is also responsible for organizational and operational effectiveness through planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of the program, direct reports, and other resources within SONHP.
The Administrator's primary reporting relationship is with the Associate Dean for Health Professions.
The Administrator functions with considerable autonomy, exercising sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities while working collaboratively with department chairs, program directors, faculty, other staff in the Dean's office in various functional areas, and other offices throughout the University.
The Administrator seeks assistance from functional experts on complex matters, acts as a trusted colleague to both faculty and staff, and serves as a consultant and representative of the programs and departments to other organizations within the School and University.
The Administrator's focus includes carrying out and attaining the mission and the goals of the programs managed; development of an effective support team and of an employee-centered workplace culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, employee retention and development; and high performance in alignment with the overall culture and climate of SONHP and University.

Job Description:
Program and Student Support 70%oProvide leadership to achieve the administrative goals and vision of the graduate program.
oAdministrative support for the internship placement process for programs in partnership with the Director of Applied Practice.
oPlan and execute program orientations and student scholarly and career events multiple times per year.
oAdminister, implement, interpret, and maintain compliance with university, department and program policies and procedures on issues regarding academic programs, advising, registration, continuing student program transfers, financial aid, graduate admission, new student onboarding, prospective student advising, student life, teaching assistantships, visa services.
oRecommend and develop new internal policies, guidelines and procedures.
oEvaluate business processes and operational effectiveness and lead process improvement for the department and programs.
oAnalyze and resolve complex administrative issues and provide alternative solutions as necessary.
oManage the direction of internal academic and administrative policy development for programs and administrative operations.
oOversee and organize program meetings (e.
g.
, scheduling, agenda preparation, and completion of minutes in collaboration with the Program Director and other program staff).
oAdvise faculty and/or deans and/or senior management on programmatic and policy development as they relate to other units.
Provide input on academic and administrative policies and guidelines.
oAddress and resolve student issues via collaboration with other business units, faculty, staff, and deans.
People Management 10%oWork with SONHP Administration to recruit, interview, select, hire, and retain a staff support team, which may also include the recruitment and hire of student assistant direct reports.
oCoach, develop, mentor, and supervise staff, including:
employee on-boarding, conflict-management, project-based assignments, and providing career development planning and opportunities.
oAppropriately communicate organization information through department/program meetings, team and/or 1:
1 meetings, email, instant message (where appropriate), and regular interpersonal communication.
External Relationships and Recruitment Support 10%oTravel related to support program recruitment (e.
g.
, student fairs, industry networking) and partnership events (e.
g.
, public health departments, hospital presentations) in the continental United States, as needed and directed.
oOutreach to incoming students, alumni, and Advisory Board members.
General Operational Support 10%oDevelop and maintain, in partnership with the program director, program budgets.
oIT Support for students, where appropriate and ability to connect staff, faculty, and students to relevant expert business units to facilitate resolution of the issue.
oDevelop and implement systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the operating unit, promotion and enforcement of internal procedures and controls; develop and maintain a system for data collection/management/analysis to support accreditation.
Perform other duties as assignedRequirements:
oBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
Master's degree preferred.
Degree in public health is preferred.
oMinimum 3 years of increasingly responsible work experience.
Work in academic settings is preferred.
oExcellent understanding of technology.
Familiarity with Google drive, Tableau, Salesforce, Canvas, Banner, and social media is preferred.
oDetail oriented and highly organized, with ability to balance competing priorities.
oExcellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate on a professional level with groups and individuals across the School and University and with external constituents, ability to edit and proofread complex documents, and ability to draft original correspondence.
oStrong interpersonal and relationship skills, including the ability to work with a highly diverse population of students, staff and faculty.
Able to exchange non-routine information using tact and persuasion and to work and communicate with a highly diverse constituency, from new university graduates to C-level executives.
oAbility to travel, and work evenings and weekends.

68,000-72,000 annually; commensurate with experience.
